each of the age groups. After almost 7 hours of netball the tournament was coming to an end leaving ASCO very happy and very proud to know that they had done very well in two of the age groups.
When the final whistle was blown and the scores for all teams totalled it was very good news for ASCO. ASCO picked up 1st place “winners” in the under 14 group and 2nd place “runners-up” in the under 11s group just being beat by one goal overall and throughout the day

ASCO under 14s players took centre stage picking up their trophies. The under 14s took a very early lead by storming ahead in there group beating Hatfield 9-3, Hornets 7-3 and the likes of Turnford 7-1 and Westoning 8-5. They went on to draw with CD Phoenix Mint 5-5 but continued their wins over Bucks Phoenix 11-8 and CD Phoenix Aquas 9-5 finishing top of the group on 33 point. Creating statistics of 56 goals for and only 30 against.

ASCO under 11s also did remarkable well just losing out and being beaten by just one team and just one extra goal, they picking up their trophies as runners-up and with some of the biggest smiles that a team could have. Turnford A team losing 5-2, High Wycombe White 4-0, ASCO B 9-0, Turnford B 7-0, Turnford C 10-1, High Wycombe Blue 7-0 and just losing out to Hornets with a very narrow defeat of 1-2. Creating statistics of 43 goals for and only 4 against.

ASCO Netball Club would like to say a very big thank you to all the clubs and teams that took part in this year’s annual tournament. It was an outstanding day including some outstanding netball being played.

ASCO would also like to say a very big thank you to all the helpers that gave there time and support in making the tournament a massive success. This year’s tournament has seen a very big increase in funds being raised from throughout the day. This allows the club to remain strong and reinvest back into the club to make netball a fun and very enjoyable sport for your girls to take part in.

Thank you all and hope to see you next year!
ASCO Annual Tournament 2010 Saturday 18 September - Wormley

What could be a better way of finishing the summer netball tournaments than two Victoria’s results for ASCO following the ASCO Netball Tournament this September.

The ASCO Netball Tournament this year has seen another glorious outcome, with over 50 netball teams and clubs taking part. Like last year this year’s tournament has seen netball clubs coming from far and wide across the country, including Pool in Dorset, CD Phoenix from East Grinstead and High Wycombe. A good spread of clubs from across the South-East region all taking part in what has come to be one of the best netball tournaments in Hertfordshire.

The day started off early with bright sunny skies and clubs setting up camp around the netball courts so they had the best view and to see what was happening throughout the day. As soon as the teams started to register a buzz came over the tournament ground, knowing that it wouldn’t be long before the first whistle would blow to commence the start of the tournament.
Like the year before the age group for the teams taking part was under 11s to under 15s.

Soon the games got underway we started seeing wins from ASCO’s own teams in their age groups. The tournament was run as a round robin each team playing each other in the 5 different age groups.
Throughout the day teams battled hard including ASCO’s own teams, picking up win after win across the age groups for under 11s and under 14s.
All day the weather remained sunny and warm allowing teams and clubs to take in what was turning out to be a great days for netball. To keep the teams and public going ASCO had an all day BBQ, serving hotdogs hamburgers and bacon rolls. This also included a refreshment area serving cakes, sweets plus hot and cold drinks also.

As the day went on ASCO started to see further wins like some of the other clubs in
